Volunteer Fabricators'
Steam Condenser (click on photo to enlarge) |

Volunteer Fabricators, Inc. needed
a steam consumer. rem
ENGINEERING
answered the call with an induction generator and steam condensing
system.
Volunteer Fabricators produces laminated
table tops and custom fabricated furniture. Nearly 50% of
every piece of wood processed through the mill winds up in
the waste bin. As an alternative to expensive transportation
and dumping costs, Volunteer Fabricators decided to burn the
dust as fuel for a 200 HP, Hurst boiler. Planned conversion
to steam heat for buildings and curing ovens proved too costly
an investment. Volunteer Fabricators needed a low cost, low
maintenance solution to their steam dilemma.
rem ENGINEERING
learned of Volunteer's predicament and contacted them in May,
1999. We explained a steam condenser must be purchased to
operate the boiler, however, an rem
ENGINEERING
designed power plant will offset the cost of the condenser
in 7 months and provide electric bill savings equaling $26,500
annually. The total, turn-key cost for the rem
ENGINEERING
designed power generating system, including the differential
installed condenser cost, was only $51,500.
rem ENGINEERING
turned a problem for Volunteer Fabricators into a money saving
project. The rem ENGINEERING
power system was operational in December, 1999. Please feel
free to contact Mr. Tommy Eggleston, Vice President of Volunteer
Fabricators, to discuss this project. Mr. Eggleston can be
reached by phone at (865) 993 - 2417.
